In Memory of Barbara Stone -SCOPE. Let's Make a Difference
In memory of Barbara Stone and all the great work that she did for many charities. I am running the London Marathon in 2027 raising money for Scope. There are two reasons for this. In memory of my mother Barbara Stone who has recently passed away. She did so many good things for a multitude of charities and her mother was disabled, hence the link with Scope. Also ourfamily has experienced first hand of the potential impact to lives that being disabled can bring and thus it is important to raise money to support those who need it. There are 16 million disabled people in the UK. That’s one in four of us. Life is harder when you’re disabled. You're twice as likely to be unemployed, getting care is a struggle and the cost of living is higher. It’s wrong and we need to ensure that everyone has a chance in life.So, I'm fundraising for Scope to create a fairer society.
We want a future that’s fair to disabled people, and to ensure that everyone has the maximum opportunity in life .
We can this happen. and progress this vision for the future where everyone can realise their full potential.
