I'm fundraising for...our Hara and everyone living with a disability✨💕
There are 16 million disabled people in the UK. That’s one in four of us. Our beautiful little girl, Hara, is one of them.
Hara was born three months early with a condition that carried just a 20% chance of survival. She spent the very beginning of her life fighting just to stay alive. Although she overcame so many unimaginable hurdles, she was left with brain damage that resulted in cerebral palsy, along with other conditions that affect her every single day.
To us, she’s simply our incredible little girl—strong, determined, full of personality, and just that little bit extra special (and wonderfully spicy!).
As her mum, I’ve spent years fighting for the care, support and services she deserves. It has often been heartbreaking to battle for things that should never have required a fight in the first place. Sadly, this isn’t just Hara’s story. It’s the reality for millions of disabled people across the UK.
Imagine if it were you, your child, or someone you love. No one should have to fight just to access the support they need.
The truth is that life is still much harder for disabled people. They’re more likely to face unemployment, struggle to access the care they need, and face significantly higher living costs. That isn’t fair, and it isn’t acceptable.
That’s why I’m fundraising for Scope.
Scope is working to create a future where disabled people are valued equally, have the same opportunities as everyone else, and can thrive without facing unnecessary barriers.
My dream is for Hara—and every disabled person across the UK—to grow up in a world where they can live life to the fullest, pursue their dreams, and never have to fight simply to be treated fairly.
