My reason for team Scope

🏃♂️ I’M RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON FOR SCOPE! 🏃♂️❤️
I’m incredibly excited (and slightly nervous!) to share that I’ll be running the London Marathon in support of Scope — a charity that is very close to my heart.
Scope is a disability equality charity that works to create a society where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. They campaign for equality, provide support and information, and work to challenge the barriers that disabled people face every day.
For me, choosing Scope is deeply personal.
I was born with talipes, also known as club foot, and had a disability throughout my childhood. I went through 7 operations and spent a large part of my early life dealing with hospitals, treatment and the challenges that came with my condition.
Although I have now been discharged from treatment, it still affects me today. I still have problems with my foot and regularly go over on it, so running a marathon is certainly going to be a challenge!
I like to think of this marathon as running in memory of the little girl I used to be — the child who went through seven operations, faced setbacks and kept going. Running 26.2 miles is my way of celebrating how far I’ve come and showing that your disability doesn’t have to stop you from achieving your goals.
Earlier this year, I ran the Manchester Marathon in April 2026 for The Christie Charity, raising £431. That experience inspired me to take on the London Marathon and push myself even further.
I’m also incredibly grateful that three other charities offered me a place to run the London Marathon for them. It was honestly such a difficult decision because they are all amazing causes, but unfortunately I had to turn them down. I’m genuinely so grateful that they considered me and offered me the opportunity. ❤️
Ultimately, Scope felt like the right charity for me because of my own experiences growing up with a disability.
My fundraising target is £2,300, and I would be incredibly grateful for any donation, no matter how big or small. Every single donation will help me get closer to my target and, more importantly, support Scope’s work helping disabled people have the opportunities and equality they deserve.
If you can donate, share my post, or simply follow my journey and cheer me on, I would be so grateful. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who supports me — I really couldn’t do this without you!
26.2 miles. One incredible challenge. One very personal reason. ❤️🏃♂️
